Dr. Nicole Lovat, MD, PhD
Medical Director
Nicole is a distinguished physician, educator, and author. She was born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada where she graduated First Class Double Honors, earning a Bachelor of Science in both Biochemistry and Physics. Her rigorous training continued as she concurrently earned both her MD and PhD in Pharmacology and Therapeutics, specializing in Insulin Resistance, Metabolic Syndrome, Female Physiology and Pregnancy.
Nicole has practiced comprehensive, cradle-to-grave medicine, including ICU care and Emergency Medicine. Her extensive, multi-disciplinary experience has enabled her to serve remote communities, deliver babies, and provide critical care in underserved areas. She has been privileged at and affiliated with prestigious institutions, including The Mayo Clinic, Providence Health Residency Program, The University of Manitoba, The University of Washington and University of North Dakota Medical Schools.
Nicole relocated to the Midwest with her husband, Grant—where their journey began—and together founded Firefly Medical. Her expertise combines with a deep passion for healing and truth – driving a patient-centered and innovative approach to hormonal health and functional wellness.

Grant Baldwin
Clinic Director & Attorney
Grant is a member of several national, regional and legal honor societies and graduated Magna Cum Laude from his undergraduate studies and earned his Juris Doctorate, graduating Cum Laude. He has extensive work history in the business sector and is a licensed attorney, entrepreneur, researcher, editor, and consultant.
With a diverse professional background, Grant brings expertise in operations management and compliance serving as both the Clinic Director and in-house counsel for Firefly Medical. Grant is the key contact for addressing questions or resolving issues related to the practice, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional service.
Nichole Jackson-Lind, FNP-C
Provider
Nichole is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) dedicated to patient-centered care and innovative health solutions. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Mary in 2012 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from North Dakota State University in 2005. With experience as an ICU, dialysis nurse, and nurse manager, she advanced her practice to focus on medical weight loss and after transitioning from neurosurgery, inspired by her own weight management journey.
Her expertise centers on insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), integrating nutrition to optimize patient wellness. Outside of work, Nichole enjoys family time with her husband, Erik, their three children, and two dogs, indulging in travel, golf, and flying—piloted by Erik. Nichole takes community involvement seriously and attends numerous government functions to ensure North Dakotan voices, concerned about their health, are heard. She also previously owned Fit Fuel Foods of Fargo, offering healthy, low-carb meals.

Dr. Kristian Enghusen, DO
Provider
Kristian is from the Pacific Northwest and practices in Spokane, Washington where she completed her Family Medicine residency. She connected with Dr. Lovat – a faculty member in her program – during her training. She is passionate about obstetrical care and women’s health and expanded her practice to specialize in hormonal health and advanced esthetics.
As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Dr. Enghusen focuses on the interconnectedness of the human body, emphasizing natural self-healing processes. Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) and advanced esthetics support her practice to help patients achieve optimal health—both internally and externally—while aligning treatments with their personal wellness goals.
An active member of her community, Dr. Enghusen enjoys outdoor activities and quality time with others. She embodies her commitment to health by maintaining a balanced lifestyle, prioritizing fitness, and dedicating herself to continuous personal and professional growth to better serve her patients.
Keri Anderson, PA-C
Physician Assistant
Keri possesses over a decade of experience in emergency medicine as a Physician Assistant and is dedicated to promoting wellness, preventive care, and optimal health outcomes. After earning her Bachelor’s in Nursing in 2007 and becoming a Physician Assistant in 2012, she honed her clinical expertise in high-pressure ER settings. Keri brings a unique perspective from her entrepreneurial background, having owned and operated two successful hair salons in Nebraska, which fuels her commitment to personalized, patient-centered care and really getting to know her clients.
A passionate advocate for empowering patients, Keri integrates evidence-based practices, including Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), nutrition, and lifestyle optimization, to comprehensively address health challenges. Outside her clinical work, she co-owns Brew on 82 Bar & Grill in Evansville, Minnesota, and finds balance through her love of the outdoors, cooking, and reading. Keri cherishes time with her three dogs, embracing an active lifestyle that inspires her approach to patient wellness.
Michael Furci, FNP-C

Michael is devoted to transforming lives through preventive medicine and optimal wellness with more than three decades of experience as a personal coach, gym owner, personal trainer, and healthcare provider. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Education from Bowling Green State University and after fulfilling his calling to be a firefighter and paramedic for over 20 years, built a second career as a nurse practitioner with extensive experience in emergency departments and psychiatric units at Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals. His proficiency in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) and preventive care is informed by taking a whole approach – blending nutrition, detoxification, and personalized coaching to achieve lasting health outcomes.
A fervent supporter of patient empowerment, Michael leverages his background as a firefighter and paramedic as well as former owner of Club Olympia Fitness Center – recognized as Cleveland’s “Best Gym” and “Best Trainer” – to inspire individuals toward peak performance. His passion for fitness, rooted in coaching everyone from professional athletes to everyday individuals, shapes his evidence-based care. In his free time, Michael enjoys outdoor activities, community engagement, and mentoring others on their journey to vibrant health.
Sam Wong, MA, CMA
Office Coordinator and Certified Medical Assistant
A native of Grand Forks, ND, Sam earned her Bachelor of Social Science from the University of North Dakota. She is a Master Esthetician and has accumulated over 10 years of experience in the field. As a Certified Medical Assistant, Sam expanded her expertise to include select medical services, blending her skills to offer comprehensive care.
Sam has transitioned her role to being the office coordinator for Firefly Medical. She is often the first point of contact for our clients and is always looking for ways to improve their experience. She has been with us since the beginning and we are fortunate to have such a responsive, dedicated member of our team.
Sam is passionate about building meaningful connections with her clients, delivering cutting-edge esthetic procedures to the Grand Forks community while maintaining a warm, personalized approach to all her interactions.
Gabrielle Bast, CMA
Certified Medical Assistant
Gabrielle is both compassionate and a valuable point of contact for clients as a Certified Medical Assistant. She began her career in service management, developing strong organizational and customer service skills. She discovered a passion for medicine and earned her certification through the University of North Dakota. This blend of business and clinical training shapes her approach to patient care, emphasizing equally, efficiency and kindness.
Dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care, Gabrielle values building meaningful relationships and ensuring each patient feels comfortable and supported throughout their visit. Her commitment to creating a welcoming environment reflects her belief that trust and connection are essential to wellness.
Outside of her clinical work, Gabrielle enjoys life in Fargo, North Dakota, where she embraces time with family, friends, and the community she grew up near in neighboring Minnesota.
