MD, PhD
Dr. Lovat was born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada. She graduated First Class Double Honors with a Bachelor of Science in both Biochemistry and Physics. Thereafter, she concurrently earned both her MD and PhD in Pharmacology and Therapeutics, specializing in Insulin Resistance, Metabolic Syndrome, and Pregnancy. After residency, Dr. Lovat went on to practice as a physician, educator, and medical director.
In her role as a physician, Dr. Lovat has practiced cradle-to-grave medicine, ICU care, and Emergency Medicine. Her diverse background has given her the privilege of treating remote communities, delivering babies, and providing critical care to her community. She has worked and been an instructor for the Mayo Clinic, trained residents at Providence Health in Washington State, and taught for the University of Washington School of Medicine.
Dr. Lovat and her husband, Grant, decided to settle in the Midwest where they first met. After settling in, Firefly Medical Group PLLC was soon conceptualized as a family business to offer customized medical care specific to treating symptoms of hormone problems. Dr. Lovat’s high degree of expertise in drug science and research, as well as her advanced training in both bio-identical hormones and esthetics, make her a first-class provider in this space.
DO
Dr. Enghusen is from the Pacific Northwest. Currently, she is in Spokane, Washington, where she completed her residency in Family Medicine. It was during this time she met Dr. Lovat, who was faculty in the program. She has a passion for obstetrical care and women’s health, and has expanded her medical practice by now treating hormone patients.
As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Dr. Enghusen focuses on the dynamic interactions within the complete human system. Her training encourages her to find ways to enhance the body’s natural self-healing processes. To help patients best attain their goals, Dr. Enghusen harmonizes bio-identical hormones with medical esthetics to help patients heal both inside and out.
Dr. Enghusen is active in her community and spends most of her free time either outdoors or with others. Health is not something to take for granted, and Dr. Enghusen practices what she preaches by eating well, prioritizing her fitness, and devoting her life to bettering herself and her patients.
Sara Aicken grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Exercise Science. Later, Sara studied medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina, receiving her Master of Physician Assistant Studies.
Sara’s medical experience is manifold. She has worked for high-end dermatology and esthetic clinics, served on medical mission trips to Haiti, and thrived in both primary and urgent care positions. Sara also has advanced training in bio-identical hormones, and has a passion for providing customized care to her clients.
Sam is a native of Grand Forks, ND. She earned her Bachelor of Social Science from the University of North Dakota. After college, Sam attended school to be trained in esthetics, and has over 10 years’ experience in the field. Sam is also a Certified Medical Assistant and has expanded her craft to include some medical services.
Sam truly enjoys creating a bond with her clients and brings the latest esthetic procedures to Grand Forks!
Grant was raised in South Carolina. He attended Randolph-Macon College in Virginia and graduated Magna Cum Laude with Bachelor’s in Political Science. Later, Grant earned his Juris Doctorate (law degree) at The University of North Dakota’s Law School, graduating Cum Laude.
Grant has professional experience as a Director of Operations, as well as legal experience in both criminal law and business law. Although Grant practices law in Washington State, he also functions as the Clinic Director for Firefly Medical Group.
